Commutatus’ developer training program
It is a Pre Graduate Program that is being run by Commutatus to nurture young talent ensuring that students
are trained to be product-centric developers, ready to tackle problems head on by the time they graduate.
We at Commutatus are offering this opportunity to students in their final year of college to provide the
right training at an early stage and to help secure their careers by giving them an attractive offer letter
even before they graduate.
Through the Commutatus Developer Trainee program, we aim to find smart, resourceful and committed individuals
who are passionate about building IT solutions for global audiences.
We will train these individuals in various technologies and equip them with the right tools to build scalable tech products.
By the end of this program candidates will be assigned Advanced Product Developer roles in Commutatus.

Online exam
The first round will be an online exam that will test for qualitative, quantitative and learning aptitude. All the candidates applying are eligible for this.
Assignment
The top 20% will be taking home an assignment that will test for resourcefulness and how quickly they can overcome difficulties. The exact details of this round will be announced to the candidates who have cleared the first round once all the scores from the first round have been processed. This is a time-bound assignment and will have a very short deadline of 24 hours.
Problem solving test
The top 100 candidates clearing the second round will be selected for this round. This will be a case study discussion, where Commutatus representatives will be presenting the candidates with a business problem that we have solved before in one of our partner's products. Candidates will be required to come up with a solution and validate it with facts under questioning. We will testing the candidates' problem solving skills through this discussion.
Face-to-face interview
This is the final round that will take place in our office premises in Egmore, Chennai. This will be a simple face-to-face interview with our team-leaders to get to know the final 20 selected candidates better and then evaluate if they're the right fit for Commutatus both in terms of culture and competence.

Here’s a roadmap of your experience in the program
Through the Arbor Program, we intend to train recruits in the prominent technical skills
prevalent in the tech industry. Apart from technical skills, we also train our recruits in
product development skills by giving them a hands-on experience in developing products from
the ground up.

Trainee
January 2020 - March 2020
₹8,000 per month (Stipend)
You will be receiving basic training on web technologies like HTML, CSS and Javascript to
get you started on your journey to becoming a product ninja. You will also get an understanding
of all the things that go hand-in-hand with development like- version control, deployments,
web-servers, etc.
Once the initial training period is over, you will be undergoing immersive training on either
the Backend or Frontend verticals depending on where you showed the most promise.
On the BE, we will be training you on Ruby on Rails. On the FE we will be training you in
either React or Angular.
Intern
April 2020 - June 2020
₹15,000 per month (Stipend)
You will be contributing to live projects under the supervision of your mentor. You will be familiarized with the best case practices and norms in building scalable products. You can expect to get your hands dirty with code during this phase.
Product Developer
July 2020 - January 2021
₹40,000 per month
You will be assigned to one of our development teams and will become a full time employee of Commutatus. From here on, the ball will be in your court. The timeline for advancing to the next levels is completely upto you.
Advanced Product Developer
February 2021 - September 2021
Rs 50,000 per month
You will be responsible for the end to end development of a product, contribute ideas during the ideation phase, interact with clients during the development of the product and handle the preparations for the launch.
Product Leader
September 2021 onwards
TBD based on performance
You will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing the development of a product from the ideation phase to the final launch and everything in between. You will be mini-CEOs of your teams!
